About the clinic
Who runs Clínica Ident?
Clínica Ident was founded in 2007 by Dr. Hamilton Torres Vasquez, a dentist with over 25 years of experience. Today the clinic has a multidisciplinary team of dentists, orthodontists and hygienists covering all specialties.
Where is Clínica Ident located?
We are at Cra 32 #26A-41, on Av. del Libertador, Santa Marta, Magdalena (Colombia). The clinic is on a main avenue, easy to reach by public and private transport.
How long has the clinic been operating?
We have been providing continuous service in Santa Marta for over 19 years, since May 2007. We have treated more than 8,000 patients in that time.
Do you provide care in English?
Yes. Part of the team speaks English and the website is available in Spanish and English. If you need your consultation in English, please tell us when booking your appointment.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 18:00. Saturdays 9:00 to 12:00. Closed on Sundays. For emergencies outside opening hours, send us a WhatsApp message at 301 381 4866.
Treatments
Which treatments do you offer?
We cover five specialties: general dentistry (cleanings, fillings, sealants), periodontics (gums), endodontics (root canals), oral rehabilitation (crowns, dentures, implants, veneers, smile design) and orthodontics (braces, aligners, lingual and interceptive orthodontics).
Do you offer smile design?
Yes. Smile design is one of our flagship treatments. We combine veneers, whitening, orthodontics and rehabilitation depending on the case. Each plan is built on a prior assessment with photographs and a study model.
Do you place dental implants?
Yes. We perform single, multiple and full-arch implant rehabilitation (fixed or removable). The treatment plan is defined after a radiographic and clinical evaluation to assess bone viability.
Do you offer clear aligners?
Yes. We offer traditional orthodontics with metal or ceramic brackets, lingual orthodontics and treatment with clear aligners. The right option depends on the clinical case and the patient's preferences.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We provide preventive pediatric dentistry (sealants, fluoride, prophylaxis) and interceptive orthodontics in minors. We recommend a first check-up from age 3.
Do you handle dental emergencies?
We attend emergencies during clinic hours (acute pain, fractures, trauma, abscesses). Call or WhatsApp us so we can schedule you as soon as possible.
Do you offer teeth whitening?
Yes. We offer in-office whitening (one session) and at-home whitening with custom trays under supervision. A professional cleaning and assessment always precede whitening.
What does a dental cleaning include?
A professional cleaning includes ultrasonic removal of plaque and tartar, surface polishing, fluoride application if appropriate, and a general check-up. We recommend a cleaning every 6 months.
What is a root canal like?
A root canal (endodontics) is done when the pulp of the tooth is infected or damaged. We clean the inside of the tooth, seal it and usually complete the treatment with a crown. It is performed under local anesthesia.
Do you treat gum problems?
Yes. Periodontics is one of our specialties. We treat from gingivitis and bleeding gums to advanced periodontitis, with scaling, root planing, tissue regeneration or surgical windows depending on the case.
Can you correct a gummy smile?
Yes. We treat gummy smiles with gingivoplasty (reshaping the gum line) and, when needed, combined orthodontic or restorative treatments.
Pricing and financing
How much does a treatment cost?
Prices vary depending on the treatment, the case complexity and the materials. We recommend requesting a personalized quote (free of charge) through the website form or WhatsApp.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We work with Addi and Welli to allow paying treatments in monthly installments without excessive interest. The approval process is done at the clinic when starting the treatment.
Do you accept EPS or private health insurance?
Clínica Ident is a private entity. We do not provide service through EPS. However, we can issue an electronic invoice so you can submit it to your private insurance under your contracted coverage.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer, card (credit and debit) and financing with Addi/Welli. For longer treatments we often split the payment across phases.
Is the first consultation free?
Yes. The initial assessment to design the treatment plan is free. If X-rays or additional tests are needed, we inform you of the cost beforehand.
Appointments and process
How do I book an appointment?
You can book via WhatsApp at 301 381 4866, by phone at the same number, or through the contact form on the website. We will reply during business hours to confirm availability.
Do I need an appointment or can I just walk in?
We work by appointment to guarantee quality time with each patient. If you have an emergency, contact us first so we can give you priority.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Your ID, any previous X-rays or dental history you may have, and the list of medications you take regularly. If you don't have X-rays, we will tell you at the appointment whether new ones are needed.
Can I request a quote without visiting?
Yes. Using the quote form on the website you can request an initial estimate by indicating the treatment you are interested in. An exact plan requires an in-person assessment, but we can give you a guideline range by email.
Can I cancel or reschedule my appointment?
Yes. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice when possible, so we can reorganize the schedule and attend more patients. To cancel or reschedule, contact us by WhatsApp.
